Sam Covey, PE

Sam Covey has been engineering structures in Austin for over fifteen years and is a past president of the Austin chapter of Structural Engineering Association of Texas. A UT graduate and Austin native he enjoys transforming challenging projects into efficient structural systems, and partnering with clients who want to positively impact the built environment. His vision for design and collaboration is the cornerstone of the FORT Structures culture. Sam has a wide range of experience including high-end custom homes, large commercial projects, intricate adaptive reuse of historic structures , and developing engineering methodology for 3D Printed Concrete Structures.  Some of his past projects include the St. Edwards Library, Temple Beth Shalom,  multiple novel 3D printed structures and many award winning residential projects. 

Sam is a resident of East Austin who enjoys tinkering with personal construction projects in his free time, as well as participating in local neighborhood groups and enjoying all of Central Texas's great swimming holes.
