Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

This policy explains how Fort Structures (“Fort Structures,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit this website or contact us. It also explains how we use cookies and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Fort Structures is a structural engineering firm based in Austin, Texas. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at info@fort-structures.com or (512) 817-9264.

2. Information we collect

  • Information you give us. When you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company and project details, and anything else you choose to include in your message.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, device and pages requested, for security and to deliver the site.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See section 7 below.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiry and discuss potential projects (legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries).
  • To operate, secure and protect our website and forms from spam and abuse (legal basis: legitimate interests).
  • With your consent, to understand how the site is used and to measure marketing, if we enable optional analytics or marketing cookies (legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers who help us run our business and website, under contracts that require them to protect it. These include our website host (Webflow), Google (reCAPTCHA spam protection and Google Fonts), Adobe (Adobe Fonts), and our email provider. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.

5. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the U.S. and elsewhere. Where data about visitors in the EU, EEA or UK is transferred, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep it

We keep inquiry emails and form submissions for as long as needed to respond and to manage any resulting project, and generally no longer than three years after our last contact unless a longer period is required by law. Cookie retention periods are listed below.

7. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use strictly necessary cookies that the site needs to work. We only use optional analytics or marketing cookies if you agree through our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. This includes rights under the EU and UK GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws such as those in Texas and California. To make a request, email info@fort-structures.com. We will respond within the time required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
